For early-stage entrepreneurs, securing the initial capital to transition a business from a conceptual blueprint into a revenue-generating reality is often the highest hurdle. Recognizing this challenge, the Mission Economic Development Corporation (EDC) created Ruby Red Ventures, a localized funding initiative engineered to inject non-dilutive capital directly into the homegrown business ecosystem of Mission.

Through its specialized Build Mission Fund, the organization empowers local founders by offering access to micro-grants that scale operational capacities without forcing owners to sacrifice equity. This initiative is a cornerstone of the city's broader economic strategy to foster grassroots innovation, expand the local tax base, and create high-quality jobs.

Unlocking Capital and Fueling Innovation

The Build Mission Fund provides eligible small businesses and tech startups with up to $15,000 in direct grant funding. Unlike standard commercial loans that weigh down a young enterprise with high interest rates and rigid monthly repayment schedules, these resources can be flexibly deployed toward tangible scaling assets.

Winners routinely utilize the capital for advanced equipment acquisition, essential facility renovations, technology upgrades, or specialized marketing campaigns.

Beyond the money, the program requires participants to complete rigorous business planning workshops, pairing financial backing with executive mentorship to ensure long-term market sustainability.
