Our Mission is Your Business's Success

The Downtown Assistance Program supports entrepreneurship, economic growth, and resiliency for small businesses located in the downtown area of Mission.

This Mission Economic Development Corporation grant program will assist existing small businesses in Mission with operation sustainability, facility improvements, facade repairs, window replacement, and other eligible projects.

The MEDC will award grants of up to $25,000 per applicant. The program’s online portal will open on August 1, 2025.

Eligible Projects Include:

Masonry repair & repointing mortar joints.
Cleaning, paint removal, and water-repellent treatments to exterior finishes
Installation, painting, repair, or replacement of exterior finishes
Repair, replacement, or preservation of original, historically significant architectural details
Installation, repair, or replacement of eaves, conduit, gutters, downspouts, display windows, doors, awnings, canopies, lighting, decorative details, cornices/parapet walls
Signage improvements
ADA Accessibility
Building permit fees
Murals (If approved by the city planning office, Downtown Assistance Committee, and program director)
Landscaping: potting, plants, window flower boxes
Interior improvements and modifications not related to building facades. (ex. Plumbing or electrical)

Eligibility

Must be located on Conway Avenue from Expressway 83 (Frontage) to 18th St. and/or a block East or West of Conway Avenue (See Map)
Must be legally registered and in good standing with local tax entities
Provide a detailed project plan with verified cost estimates and a timeline
Businesses that have received MEDC funding in the last 2 years are ineligible to apply
