Ruby Red Ventures – The Competition continues to serve as a cornerstone initiative for supporting business growth in Mission, now enhanced through a partnership with the UTRGV Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Center (ECC) and the AdvanceUp Accelerator.
This next phase of the program is designed for established businesses that are ready to scale. Through AdvanceUp, participants will engage in a structured, 14-session accelerator focused on refining operations, strengthening strategy, and positioning their business for sustainable growth.
The Mission Economic Development Corporation, in collaboration with UTRGV ECC, provides access to mentorship, hands-on learning, and valuable connections to support this next stage of business development.
Upon completion of the program, participants will have the opportunity to pitch their business to a panel of judges, competing for grant awards of $25,000, $15,000, and $10,000.
By aligning Ruby Red Ventures with AdvanceUp, Mission EDC is expanding its impact—supporting established businesses as they scale, create jobs, and contribute to the continued growth of Mission’s economy.
Eligibility & Guidelines
To qualify for support from Mission EDC, participants must:
- Own and operate an established business located in the City of Mission
- Demonstrate readiness to scale, including a clear growth strategy and operational foundation
- Commit to fully participating in and completing the 14-session AdvanceUp Accelerator program
- Maintain active business operations and be in good standing
Completion of the AdvanceUp Accelerator is required to qualify for the Ruby Red Ventures Pitch Competition, where participants will compete for grant awards of $25,000, $15,000, and $10,000.
