Our Mission is Your Business's Success
Ruby Red Ventures – The Competition is a grant program designed to empower early-stage entrepreneurs. Through this initiative, the Mission Economic Development Corporation, in collaboration with the UTRGV Office of Entrepreneurship and Commercialization, provides essential funding and mentorship to help startups build a strong foundation.
This competitive program is open to small businesses operating in the City of Mission for less than two years, as well as aspiring entrepreneurs with a business idea who are committed to launching their venture in Mission.
To qualify, participants must complete a six-week course designed to equip them with the essential tools and knowledge to sharpen their business strategies. Graduates of the program will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges, competing for grant awards of $25,000, $15,000, and $10,000.
By investing in emerging businesses and fostering entrepreneurial growth, Ruby Red Ventures – The Competition is shaping the next generation of local success stories and strengthening Mission’s business community.
Eligibility & Guidelines
To qualify for support from Mission EDC, participants must:
- Own a business in the City of Mission that's been operating for less than two years
- OR have a business idea and commit to launching the startup in Mission
- Complete and graduate from the six-week Kauffman FastTrac course to qualify to compete.
