Three new lines, 50 jobs created; project to generate nearly $16M annually

MISSION, TEXAS – Bettcher Manufacturing, a precision metal components manufacturer with more than a century of experience serving multiple industries, has announced the expansion of its operations in Mission, Texas, with a $3 million investment.

The project is located at 805 Trinity Drive in the Business Park at Trinity, where the company operates a 60,000-square-foot facility. As part of the expansion, Bettcher Manufacturing is relocating a portion of its manufacturing operations from Reynosa, Mexico, to Mission, marking a strategic move to increase U.S.-based production and begin expanded manufacturing operations in the United States.

The company has already begun hiring, with eight employees currently in training, and anticipates being fully operational by August 2026. The expansion includes the addition of three new manufacturing lines, supporting an initial 50 new jobs, with the potential to grow to 60 to 70 positions as operations scale. Starting wages range from $11 to $25 per hour.

This investment builds on Bettcher’s recent enhancements to its Mission facility, including the installation of a new powder coat paint line in 2025. The addition strengthened the company’s finishing capabilities, improving quality control, reducing lead times, and expanding service offerings to both existing and new customers.

The project is expected to generate nearly $16 million in annual economic impact, according to an economic impact study conducted by the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

Founded in 1894 in Cleveland, Ohio, Bettcher Manufacturing produces precision metal components and stampings for a wide range of applications. The company established operations in McAllen in 2002, relocated its headquarters there in 2009, and in 2023 moved its headquarters and distribution center to Mission. Today, Bettcher employs 291 individuals across its operations.

Its capabilities include high-volume stamping, CNC machining, fabrication, and finishing, supporting both small, intricate components and large-scale industrial parts across industries such as HVAC, commercial trucking, refrigeration, appliances, and energy.

“This expansion supports our long-term operational strategy to align production closer to our customers and streamline our supply chain,” said Ken Mack, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bettcher Manufacturing. “Mission provides the workforce and infrastructure required to scale our operations efficiently.”

“Bettcher Manufacturing’s expansion is a great win for Mission,” said Norie Gonzalez Garza, Mayor of the City of Mission, Texas. “We’re excited to see a company continue to invest here, creating quality jobs for our residents and building on the strong workforce and pro-business environment we’re proud of.”

Mission’s proximity to the Anzalduas International Bridge and its strong bi-national relationships continue to position the city as a strategic location for manufacturers seeking to optimize cross-border operations and supply chain efficiency. The expansion further increases Bettcher Manufacturing’s operational footprint in Mission and supports continued growth in the region’s manufacturing sector.
